Courtesy of an 0-3 east coast road trip, the Los Angeles Lakers saw their stock plummet in Marc Stein’s weekly Power Rankings on ESPN.com.

1. Orlando Magic

2. Dallas Mavericks

3. Cleveland LeBrons

“You think we’re overly panicky? That’s fine. The view here remains that LeBron has to be back on the floor before we can restore the Cavs to their rightful spot in the top two. No matter how minor LBJ’s ailments might seem.”

4. Lake Show

“The Lakers had gone a whopping 185 games without enduring a three-game losing skid before Sunday’s loss in Orlando. The new longest active streak? Denver has played a mere 30 games without a three-game skid.”

It’s interesting how Stein is so quick to jump on the Mavericks’ bandwagon. Although they’re riding an 11-game win streak and are much improved after acquiring Caron Butler and Brendan Haywood, I don’t believe it’s enough to dethrone us – even if for some reason we don’t have homecourt advantage.

Speaking of which …

Homecourt watch:

Cavs: 49-15
Lakers: 46-18
