The Orlando Magic finally got to exact some revenge on the Los Angeles Lakers for their efforts in last year’s NBA Finals. The Magic made history on Sunday, causing the first three-game losing streak since Pau Gasol was traded to the Lakers.

It was the Magic’s balanced scoring that kept the Lakers on their heels throughout the second half. All five Magic starters were in double figures while the Lakers only had 3 players who reached the same mark.

Kobe Bryant once again led the way with 34 points while collecting 7 assists, but had a horrid shooting day as he went 12-30 from the field. Pau Gasol added 20 points and Derek Fisher scored 11.

Many expected the Lakers to go 2-1 on the road trip, but going 0-3 should be unacceptable for a team with championship aspirations.

Losing to Miami and Charlotte due to a lack of effort was unforgivable. Maybe that’s why Bryant recently went off about his team’s less than stellar efforts.

The Lakers will return home March 9th and host the Toronto Raptors at STAPLES Center to see if they can get back on the winning track.
